About Your First Visit

Dr. Pickelman getting her own ear molds made!

We can usually work in a new patient evaluation same-day, however scheduling in advance is recommended of course!

Most full hearing aid evaluations will take about 1 1/2 hours, so please be sure to allow for plenty of time in your schedule.  We will have a minimal amount of paperwork that we ask you to fill out, so please arrive a few minutes early to take care of this.

We ask that you bring a loved one or close friend with you to the evaluation.  It is important that we get their input on your hearing, and what types of communication difficulties you are experiencing.  It is perfectly OK if a friend of loved one is not available of course.

Many customers are requesting rechargeable battery systems, an innovation that hit the major manufacturers about 3 years ago.  We now offer most hearing aids with a rechargeable option.  These rechargeable systems are remarkably easy to maintain and use, especially for our patients with arthritis or dexterity limitations.

And new for 2020 is artificial intelligence enhanced background noise filtration on the higher tech level devices.  Patients choosing models with AI-enhancement notice much better hearing in poor acoustical environments such as dinner parties, restuarants, places of worship or outdoors with wind noise.

If your Hearing Loss developed suddenly, or is associated with pain or dizziness we ask that you be evaluated first by one of our physicians.  We can arrange this when you call, or you may call the Advanced ENT Associates scheduling number at (404) 943-0900.
